Memo from Thomas J. Innes, Esquire
I receive any calls asking about clients being sent to CEC from the other Philadelphia County Jails. The following are the PPS criterian for people being sent to CEC:
1. No inmate being held WOB or with bail over $50,000.
2. No inmates with ICE, US MARSHALL, or other detainers.
3. No inmates awaiting extradition an being held (as above) without bail.
4. No inmates who are classified “close custody” by the jail.
CEC is a medium custody jail and cannot receive close custody (high security risk) inmates.
Both sentenced and pretrial inmates can be housed at CEC.
The jail will not automatically honor a court order sending a client to CEC; the jail will review such an order however and honor it if it can do so.
