Session Schedule

The House and Senate meet June 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30.  Under the Pennsylvania Constitution, the State Budget must be passed by June 30.

Bills Moving

House

Dissemination Of Intimate Images: House Bill 2107 (Murt-R-Adams) relating to the unlawful distribution of intimate images was reported from the House Appropriations Committee and passed by the House.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.  NewsClip: House Passes bill Cracking Down On Revenge Porn

Firearms: House Bill 1498 (Stephens-R-Montgomery) further providing for sentencing for crimes committed with firearms was amended on the House Floor and passed by the House.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Personal Information Breach: House Bill 2167 (Swanger-R-Lebanon) setting further notification requirements in cases of personal information breaches was reported from the House Rules Committee, amended on the House Floor, referred into and out of the House Appropriations Committee and passed by the House.  A summary and House Fiscal Note are available.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Liquor Code: House Bill 1769 (Hickernell-R-Lancaster) requiring Responsible Alcohol Management Training for any seller or server of alcohol was reported from the House Rules Committee and is now on the House Calendar for action.

Human Trafficking: Senate Bill 75 (Greenleaf-R-Montgomery) further providing penalties for human trafficking was amended and reported from the House Judiciary Committee and is now on the House Calendar for action.

Senate

Scrap Metal Theft From Railroads: Senate Bill 1077 (Argall-R-Schuylkill) further providing for scrap material theft with respect to railroads was amended on concurrence and reported from the Senate Rules Committee and concurred in by the Senate.  The bill now returns to the House for a concurrence vote.

Protection Of Newborns: House Bill 1090 (Youngblood-D- Philadelphia) further providing for protective custody of newborn children- House summary– was reported from the Senate Judiciary Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.

Ignition Interlock: Senate Bill 1036 (Rafferty-R-Montgomery) further providing for ignition interlocks was amended and reported from the Senate Transportation Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.

Public Hearings

June 16– Senate Appropriations Committee meets to consider House Bill 1337 (Toohil-R-Luzerne) providing funding for legal services for low-income citizens- House summary.    Rules Room. Off the Floor.

June 17–  House Transportation Committee meets to consider House Bill 2244 (Micozzie-R- Delaware) itemized projects under the Highway-Railroad Capital Budget.  Room 205 Ryan Building.  Off the Floor. meets to consider  (Thomas-D-Philadelphia) directing the Joint State Government Committee to conduct a study of the Commonwealth’s cyber security efforts to protect private information of citizens- .  Room 205 Ryan Building. 9:00.

June 17– House Commerce Committee meets to consider House Resolution 778 (Thomas-D-Philadelphia) directing the Joint State Government Committee to conduct a study of the Commonwealth’s cyber security efforts to protect private information of citizens- sponsor summary.  Room 205 Ryan Building. 9:00.

June 18–  House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee informational meeting on House Bill 2014 (Hennessey-R-Chester) amending the Older Adults Protective Services Act to provide for criminal background checks- sponsor summary.  Room G-50 Irvis Building. 9:30.
