On Monday, Governor Tom Corbett signed two execution warrants, bringing the total of four warrants signed since he took office in January.

Execution is scheduled for May 10 for James A. Dennis of Philadelphia who was convicted of first degree murder in October 1992. Dennis, 40, shot and killed 17 year old Chedell Williams in October 1991 during a robbery attempt as she walked home from school. Police said that Dennis grabbed the victim’s earrings and then shot her. Dennis resides at SCI Greene.

Execution is scheduled for May 12 for Richard R. Laird of Bucks County. Laird, 47, was convited of first degree murder in the stabbing death of Anthony Milano in December 1987. Witnesses said that the two men met in a tavern. Milano was last seen giving Laird a ride home. Laird resides at SCI Greene.
