The House and Senate are in recess until September.   The Senate will meet September 24, 25;   October 1, 2, 3, 15, 16, 17;  November 14 for election of leadership for next session.  The House will meet September 24, 25;  October 1, 2, 3, 4, 15, 16, 17, 18.  The House will meet in lame-duck sessions on November 13, 14, 19, 20.

NEW   House Judiciary Committee

September 12—House Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on Senate Bill 943 (Corman-R-Centre) imposing an alcohol offense prevention fee in certain municipalities, Senate Bill 941 (Corman-R-Centre) further providing for misconduct, purchase and consumption of alcohol.   Council Chambers, State College.  10 a.m.

August 28—House Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on House Bill 2249 (Watson-R-Bucks) providing for the offense of online impersonation.  Washington Township Municipal Building, Warrington.  11 am.

Sentencing Guidelines

The Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing has republished its proposed revision to Sentencing Guidelines with commentary for further public comment in the August 4 Pennsylvania Bulletin Page 4846.

The Free Student Research Center is now OPEN. It will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9AM to 3PM. The Free Student Research Center is available for use by attorneys who are current members of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section and who are court-appointed to the case for which they seek research (either state or CJA!). The Free Student Research Center is located in the Jack Myers Memorial Lounge on the Third Floor of the CJC.
