Session Schedule

Fifteen voting days remain for 2013.  The House will be in session Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Thursday will not be a voting day.  The Senate will be in session on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Committee Meetings

October 15– Senate Appropriations Committee meets to consider Senate Bill 24 (Vulakovich-R-Allegheny) establishing a statewide database of child protective services,  Senate Bill 29 (Vance-R-Cumberland) mandating the reporting of certain newborns, Senate Bill 1116 (Washington-D-Philadelphia) further providing for child protection investigations and reports. Rules Room. Off the Floor.

October 15– House Appropriations Committee meets to consider House Bill 20 (Simmons-R-Lehigh) further prohibiting the concealing the death of a child– summaryHouse Bill 36 (Saylor-R-York) establishing an angel investment tax credit, House Bill 1041 (Hackett-R- Delaware) prohibiting the release of certain 911 call information. Room 140.  Off the Floor.

October 15– Time Change. House Human Services Committee holds a hearing on mental health involuntary commitment law. Room 60 East Wing.  9:00.

October 15– Senate Finance Committee holds a hearing on the Independent Fiscal Office’s report on Senate Bill 76 (Argall-R-Schuylkill) replacement of school property taxes– summary.  This bill would allow school districts to impose sales taxes.  Legal services are excluded from the tax.Hearing Room 1, North Office Building.  9:30.

October 16– House Children and Youth Committee meets to consider House Bill 162 (Benninghoff-R-Mifflin) further providing for original birth records– summary.  Room 60 East Wing.  10:00.

October 29– Senate Judiciary Committee holds a hearing on legal representation of the indigent.  Koppers Building, 436 7th Ave, 9th Floor, Grant Room, Pittsburgh. 1:00.
