Incarcerated Parents: Senate Bill 163 (Greenleaf-R-Montgomery) further providing for children of incarcerated parents was passed by the Senate and now goes to the House for action. A Senate Fiscal Note and summary is available.
Crime Victims Committee: Senate Bill 1113 (Ward-R-Westmoreland) crime victims’ representation on Victims’ Services Advisory Committee (sponsor summary) was passed by the Senate and now goes to the House for action.
Abandoned Contraband: Senate Bill 533 (Eichelberger-R-Blair) further providing for the disposition of abandoned contraband by Board of Probation and Parole was amended and reported from the House Judiciary Committee and is now on the House Calendar for action.
Firearms Regulation: House Bill 1496 (Stephens-R-Montgomery) increasing maximum penalties for felons possessing firearms (House Fiscal Note and summary is available), House Bill 1497 (Stephens-R-Montgomery) increasing penalties for juvenile felons and juvenile drug dealers using firearms (House Fiscal Note and summary is available), House Bill 1498 (Stephens-R-Montgomery) ensuring mental health disqualifications are sent to national firearms background check system (House Fiscal Note and summary is available) were reported out of the House Rules Committee, referred into and out of the House Appropriations Committee and were passed by the House. The bills now go to the Senate for action.
