Session Schedule

The House and Senate, having passed the State budget, adjourned for the Independence Day weekend without passing passing revenue bills to fund the budget.  As of Friday, it was uncertain whether the House and Senate will return to session on July 5.

Bills Moving

Juvenile Offenses: House Bill 2153 (Nesbit-R-Butler) relating to juvenile summary offenses enforcement was reported out of the House Judiciary Committee, referred into and out of the House Rules Committee, referred into and out of the House Appropriations Committee and passed by the House.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action. A House Fiscal Note and summary is now available.

Child Abuse: House Bill 1947 (Marsico-R-Dauphin) eliminating the statute of limitations on child abuse cases  (House Fiscal Note and summary) was amended to remove the unlimited statute of limitations on criminal charges and reported out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was referred into and out of the Senate Appropriations Committee and was passed by the Senate. The bill returns to the House for a concurrence vote.  A Senate Fiscal Note is available.

Child Abuse Prevention: Senate Bill 1311 (Vance-R- Cumberland) further providing for child abuse prevention and treatment (sponsor summary) was passed by the Senate and now goes to the House for action.
